Dale Hunter to coach Canada's national junior team

Petrolia's Dale Hunter has been named the head coach of Team Canada's 2020 world junior hockey championship team.

Hockey Canada made the announcement Tuesday.

Dale joins his younger brother Mark who was named the team's general manager in March.

The two have coached and managed the London Knights for nearly two decades since purchasing the team in 2000.

Hockey Canada also announced Ottawa 67's head coach André Tourigny, and Saskatoon Blades head coach Mitch Love will serve as assistant coaches on Hunter's staff.

Tim Hunter, no relation, was the head coach of Team Canada's 2019 team that lost to Finland in the quarterfinals.

The 2020 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships begin December 26 in the Czech Republic.
