Point Edward gaming payments surpass $45M

The Village of Point Edward has now received over $45 million in non-tax gaming revenue since the waterfront casino opened in April 2000.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation [OLG] has issued fourth-quarter payments to communities hosting casinos across the province.

Point Edward is getting $580,353 for the period from January to the end of March this year for hosting Gateway Casinos.

“OLG shares revenues with host municipalities to help them invest in local priorities, including community services and infrastructure,” said Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey.

The village received a total of almost $2.5 million in non-tax gaming revenue from the OLG over the last fiscal year.
