City police identify murder victim

Sarnia police have confirmed the identity of a man who died following a violent altercation last week.

Police said Jesse Mowat-Caudle died in London hospital after being critically injured last Wednesday on Maxwell Street near St. Vincent Street.

Visitation and funeral services for the 26-year-old are being held at Smith Funeral Home in Sarnia Friday and Saturday.

Donations are being accepted in memory of Mowat-Caudle for Pathway's Health Centre for Children and the Sarnia and District Humane Society.

Matthew Gerard Theriault, 30, of Sarnia is charged with second degree murder in connection with Mowat-Caudle's death.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
