Habitat for Humanity names new CEO

Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton will see a change at its helm this week.

Chief Executive Officer Sarah Reaume is stepping away from the role she's held since 2010.

"This is not a decision that happened in the short run," said Reaume. "I've been working with the board of directors at habitat since the fourth quarter of last year to develop a succession plan that would see an easy transition between myself and the incumbent CEO."

Reaume will continue to undertake project based work and offer support to staff and new CEO David Waters.

Waters, a Sarnia native, brings 35 years of experience to the role.

The property manager has served in various roles throughout the province, most recently as a National Director and Provincial President of the Cooperative Housing Federation of Canada.

Waters first day is April 22.
