Wyoming inventor meet and greet

Plympton-Wyoming residents are invited to meet a local celebrity Wednesday night.

Jason Cates recently won the $25,000 grand prize in the Princess Auto Ultimate Figure-It-Outer contest for his custom-built "rollinator" machine.

He was chosen from a field of 600. Challenges included building a go-kart, long splitter and can crusher.

Town Executive Assistant Rebecca Vandenberk said it's a wonderful opportunity for Plympton-Wyoming residents to recognize one of their own.

"The entire country of Canada was a part of this competition, and to have somebody so close to home be the winner of it is just a great accomplishment, and a wonderful representation of the all the unique things Plympton-Wyoming has to offer."

Vandenberk said a number of Jason's inventions will be on display, including his famous riding lawn roller.

"He's going to have the Rollinator there, I understand there is going to be a go-kart that he invented, as well as a few other of his unique inventions."

The event is open to the public, and gets underway at 7 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Wyoming.

They plan on screening the final three episodes of the show.
