The warmer weather is back, the snowplows have hopefully been put away for the season, and overnight parking is returning to city streets.
The restrictions are being lifted a month earlier this year, starting April 1 and continuing until October 31.
In the past, April was included in the months during which overnight parking was prohibited to allow for snow removal.
City of Sarnia Director of Engineering Mike Berkvens said council decided in 2018 to shave a month off the bylaw.
"They recognized that any snowfalls we have in April are very minimal in nature and don't require vehicles to be off the road," he said.
Berkvens said getting rid of April enforcement is expected to cost the city about $17,500 in lost fine revenue.
He also said if we do happen to get heavy snowfall during April, the city would appreciate the public's assistance in not parking on the road to make it easier for the plows.
Vehicles will again be prohibited from parking on city streets between 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. starting November 1.
