Four Sarnia-Lambton high school students have won the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation's highest student achievement award.
Claire Tillapaugh of Sarnia Northern, and LCCVI's Emma Kelly, Lexi Graham, and Harris Annett were named Friday as winners of the award in honour of Marion Drysdale.
Tillapaugh won the digital arts 9-12 category in the creative division for her look at residential schools through pictures, called "Shoeless."
Kelly won the visual arts 9-10 category for her art piece called "Forward in Reverse" that questions whether society is moving ahead or back to the past.
Graham won the French senior grades 11-12 category in the prose or poetry division for "Illusion d'advancement" that explores the dangers of social media.
And Annett won the intermediate Grades 9-10 applied/essential category in prose or poetry for her innovation and technology entry "Century Farm."
The contest is named after Marion Drysdale who died of cancer in 1983 just after retiring from the position of secretary to the general secretary of the OSSTF.
Each student wins a cash prize of $1,000 and a framed certificate.
