Sting prepare for 'win and in' game

Following a 6-2 home loss to the Saginaw Spirit on Tuesday, the Sarnia Sting are set to play their biggest game of the OHL season on Friday night.

Ryan McGregor and Hugo Leufvenius led the way for the Sting with a goal each. Owen Tippett scored a goal and added three assists for the Spirit.

The Sting will take on the Windsor Spitfires at Progressive Auto Sales Arena with a chance to secure a berth in the postseason.

Sarnia comes into that match-up with 59 points in 65 games, while the Spitfires have 58 points in 66 games. The Erie Otters are still in the mix, just two behind Windsor.

If Sarnia wins, they'll move up to 61 points and Windsor won't be able to catch them.

The Sting will likely face either the Spirit or London Knights in the opening round of the playoffs.

Sarnia's last two games of the regular season will be a home and home with the last place Flint Firebirds on Saturday and Sunday.
