Police hope blitz a turn for the better

Sarnia police are cracking down on motorists making unsafe and improper turns, and those that don't use their signal.

Police laid six highway traffic act charges during a blitz on Friday and Saturday.

Constable John Sottosanti said it's all about making sure everyone is safe on the road.

"We can't read each other's minds," said Sottosanti. "Everybody needs to follow the rules of the road, and try to remember back to when they took their driving test. What was required of them then is still required of them now."

Sottosanti said for left turns, make sure you go from center lane to center lane.

For right turns, it's curb lane to curb lane.

It's a $110 fine for an improper turn.
