Sting lose to the Spitfires again

The visiting Windsor Spitfires scored three goals in the first period and three in the second enroute to a 7-4 win over the Sarnia Sting.

In Windsor on Thursday the Spitfires topped the Sting 3-1.

Friday night Windsor opened the scoring on a goal by Curtis Douglas, his first of two, three minutes into the game

Braden Guy's 18th goal of the season at 5:51 tied the game.

Just over a minute later Chris Playfair scored his first of two to give the Spits the lead.

Nathan Staios would make it 3-1 Windsor after the opening period.

In the second Douglas and Playfair would score before Sarnia's Mitch Elliot tallied his 15th of the season.

Tyler Angle scored for Windsor and Sarnia's Jacob Perreault notched his 27th of the season with less than a minute left in the period.

The teams would trade goals in the third period.

Will Cuylle scored for the Spitfires and Sean Josling (15) scored for the Sting.

Sarnia captain Ryan McGregor said "The effort, for the most part, was there. We did a good job rallying (late in the second and early in the third) but we kind of struggled getting back into it but I thought we had a decent pushback at the end."

Cameron Lamour stopped 26 of 33 shots for Sarnia while Colton Incze blocked 33 of 37 Sarnia shots.

Windsor was three for six on the power and the Sting had one power play goal in two chances.

The victory moved the Spitfires to within one point of seventh place Sarnia in the OHL's Western Conference.

On Monday Windsor welcomes Owen Sound and Sarnia is home to Saginaw at 2:05 p.m. The pregame show starts at 1:35 p.m. on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.
