Holy Rosary school issues sweater challenge

A Plympton-Wyoming elementary school continues to strive to make the world a little greener.

Holy Rosary Catholic School is taking part in National Sweater Day Thursday in an effort to make a positive change in our environment.

Principal Margaret DeGurse said they're turning down their thermostats.

"The best thing about it is it doesn't cost anything," said DeGurse. "All you need to do is put on a sweat shirt or a sweater, something to keep you warmer than just a t-shirt. We want to spread awareness for the kids."

DeGurse said they've already encouraged about 10 other schools to take part in the initiative.

Last year, Holy Rosary was certified as a gold eco-school.
