City's new CAO search moving forward

The search for Sarnia's new chief administrative officer (CAO) is moving forward.

Mayor Mike Bradley said city council has selected a number of candidates for interviews which are expected to take place over a three week period.

"Normally, you would have about a half a dozen candidates so you have a good pool to look at," said Bradley. "That doesn't mean that you're not going to go back out again, it doesn't mean that you're not going to have second and third interviews. Based on past experience, I think that's critical that we drill deep into the individual's skills, talents and reputation and their past record."

Margaret Misek-Evans left the CAO role at the end of December after five years with the city.

Alan Shaw served as Interim CAO until moving on to North York to become director of building.
