2018 a banner year for Lambton College

Lambton College is coming off what it calls one of the most successful years in the school's 50 year history.

The college underwent a major campus renewal project, which saw the addition of a state of the art athletics complex and Centre of Excellence in Energy and Bio-Industrial Technologies.

They also added new programs like eSports, and made strides in areas including applied research, technology, health, international programming, and social projects.

College President Judith Morris said 2018 also saw Lambton's Enactus team crowned world champions at the Enactus World Cup.

"I was in San Jose when they won and I can tell you it was one of the biggest and most important moments of my life and certainly of those young people's," said Morris. "Recognizing their achievements and their work in Zambia was outstanding for the college and our students."

Lambton was also named the top applied research college among Canada's 145 colleges.

Morris said the new health building will open to students in January, with a grand opening ceremony planned for May.
