Sarnia man arrested in Point Edward and another in St. Clair Township

On Saturday at approximately 7:20 p.m. a Lambton OPP officer observed a passenger car with an improper licence plate on Michigan Avenue in Point Edward.

Once the vehicle was stopped the driver was asked for and provided a breath sample to measure alcohol levels.

As a result a 22-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and charged for driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.

He is to appear in court January 14, 2019.

On Sunday at around 2:30 a.m. Lambton OPP investigated a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 40, south of LaSalle Line in St. Clair Township.

The investigation revealed that a passenger car had been travelling on Highway 40 when it lost control and entered the ditch.

Police believed the driver to be impaired by alcohol.

The driver was arrested by the OPP qand later provided breath samples totaling more than three times the legal limit.

A 33-year-old St. Clair Township man has been charges with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood and impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
