Aamjiwnaang cannabis shop busted for second time

Four men have been arrested after a $122,000 raid at a cannabis shop at Aamjiwnaang First Nation, the second time it's been busted in just over two months.

Sarnia police executed a search warrant at "Pot of Gold Medicals and Edibles" in the 1800 block of St. Clair Parkway at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers seized 22 pounds of marijuana bud worth $99,880, edibles worth $12,752, and $9,260 in cash.

Police said the officers described the business as dirty, and say the suspects handled the product with no quality control or consideration for hygiene. Also, police said the product was all illicit, meaning that it was produced via illegal means and not by Health Canada regulated greenhouses.

It's unknown what quantity of THC is in the edibles, but police claim some of the marijuana buds had mould on it.

Police said the investigation was driven by complaints from local community members concerned about the illegal establishment and the fact they were allegedly selling products to minors.

Derek Donkers, 33, of Sarnia, Ricardo Tersigni, 20, of Sarnia, Ryan Michael Bressette, 37, of Aamjiwnaang, and Arnold Mayers, 62, of Corunna, are each charged under the Cannabis Act with possession for the purpose of sale.
