Sarnia police have arrested a 37-year-old man on three outstanding warrants for charges including drug trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Police said they spotted a man known to them on a bicycle at around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday.
He was wanted on one warrant for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of pepper spray and a Taser. A second warrant was for failing to attend court, and a third was for failing to comply with recognizance. The warrants date back to March and April of this year.
Officers set up surveillance on a suspect in the area of Collingwood Street and Exmouth Street and at around 5:30 p.m. arrested a man after a brief struggle.
A search led to the seizure of 25 grams of crystal methamphetamine, with a street value of $2,500, and $420 in Canadian currency.
Derrick Michael Peachey, 37, of Sarnia, now faces two additional counts of failing to comply with recognizance and one count of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking.
He remained in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
