Special Sting sweater night 'ugly' for visiting Otters

The Sarnia Sting scored early and often in a 10-4 rout of visiting Erie on Ugly Christmas Sweater Night Friday.

Jacob Perreault (15) opened the scoring for Sarnia at 8:30 of the opening period.

The Sting would add three more in the opening frame on goals from Jamieson Rees (4), Calvin Martin (9) and Hugo Leufvenius (21) for a 4-1 lead.

Sarnia would score twice in the second period on goals from Perreault (16) and Brayden Guy (9) and led 6-2 heading into the third.

Curtis Egert (8) scored three times in the final stanza for his first OHL hat trick. Alexandre Hogue also scored for the Sting.

Elias Cohen, Gera Poddubnyl, Emmett Sproule and Kyle Maksimovich scored for the Otters.

Sarnia outshot Erie 41-31 with Ethan Langevin picking up the win for the Sting.

The Sting donned special ugly Christmas sweater jerseys that are being auctioned off in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Sarnia visits Saginaw Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The pregame show starts at 6:40 p.m. on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.
