New sign helps navigate points of interest in Petrolia

A new sign will soon go up at the northeast corner of Victoria Park.

The Rotary Club of Petrolia has donated $7,708 for the information and way-finding sign that will contain a map of the Hard Oil Town, highlighting points of interest.

The three-panel sign will also have a Community Events section, while the third panel will be used for town communications and notices.

Brochure and pamphlet holders across the bottom will hold maps and other information about dining, shopping and other useful information about the town.

Community Services Director Dave Menzies said the Rotary Club has and continues to be an outstanding community partner.

"When their other park sign was destroyed in a storm, we wanted to get something installed that would help both residents and visitors," said Menzies. "We are so grateful for their generosity and continued support of the Town of Petrolia."

There will also be a recognition plaque added to the sign, recognizing the club for their support of the park.

The sign will be accessible to all with new sidewalks installed. It will also feature lighting and rose gardens.
