UPDATE: Snow squall warning ended

Environment Canada has ended a snow squall warning for London and Middlesex County as well as Northern and Eastern Lambton County.

The weather agency issued the warning Thursday evening ahead of a cold front that was expected to intensify snow squalls throughout the night and into Friday morning.

Some areas may see in excess of 15 centimetres by Friday morning, Environment Canada said.

"Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate," Environment Canada said in a news release. "Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow."
