The year-long transformation of Point Edward's casino is now complete.
The re-branded Starlight Casino showcased their new gaming floor, bar and buffet Wednesday afternoon at a grand opening celebration.
Casino General Manager Linda McColl said these were the final additions of their $26 million renovation project.
She said the casino now offers so much more than just gambling and entertainment.
"We have the family-friendly restaurant in Match Eatery, the buffet is off our gaming floor and it provides an entirely different experience, and the Nova Bar, which opened earlier in the day, extenuates the brand-- it's a retro bar and it fits perfectly with our throw-back days into the Vegas golden years," she said.
McColl said the casino's gaming floor was upgraded to now feature 25 live table games and 494 slots across the 75,000 square foot facility.
The casino employs 340 people, which is a roughly 40 person increase compared to when Gateway first purchased the site.
Starlight Point Edward is the first Starlight brand to open in Ontario.
