Salvation Army extends Christmas Hamper registration

The Salvation Army Sarnia is looking to fill more of their Christmas hampers for residents in need this holiday season.

The local organization usually fills Christmas hampers for 850 households but, Captain Nancy Braye said they've only received about 600 applications in 2018.

"Our concern is that they're still people out there who need assistance but have not come to apply, so we just want to make sure that we're giving them every opportunity to do so," said Braye. "We want to make sure no one is left out and as many people are helped this Christmas season as possible."

Braye said applicants need to bring identification for everyone in their household as well as proof of household income to the Salvation Army at 970 Confederation Street.

Registration continues until 3 p.m. on Monday and again from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
