Halloween at the hospital (GALLERY)

Paediatric patients at Bluewater Health had special Halloween visitors on Wednesday.

Staff at the hospital dressed up in various costumes, including Disney personalities, Beanie Babies, and The King of Rock and Roll.

Spokesperson Julia Oosterman said it's a great way to brighten up the day for some of their younger patients.

"What's nice about it is that it's completely spontaneous. It's staff doing it because they want to do it and they care about their patients. It's not something that's dictated or ordered, it's just people bringing joy to work," she said. "It's never fun if you have to be in a hospital bed instead of outside trick-or-treating, so we certainly do whatever we can to bring as much joy and happiness, especially to our paediatric patients, on Halloween."

Oosterman said the fun and spirited staff are always finding new ways to put a smile on their patient's faces.
