Smaller non-industrial campaigns fueling United Way fundraiser

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign has passed the 50 per cent mark, but it's still lagging about a week behind last year's pace.

Executive Director Dave Brown said the smaller businesses are really coming through this year.

"We've noticed that in some of our smaller, nonindustrial campaigns, we've had quite an increase in donors," he said. "For example, so far Canada Border Services have more than doubled last year's number of donors, and one of our schools, the first school that's in so far, have doubled last year's contributions."

Brown said they've raised about 52 per cent of their $2 million goal.

The next big fundraiser is November 15.

Tickets for Pasta Fest at the Dante Club are $15.
