Visiting Attack down Sting

The Sarnia Sting were defeated 6-3 by the Owen Sound Attack in OHL action at the Progressive Auto Sale Arena Friday night.

Nick Suzuki opened the scoring for the Attack at the 1:15 mark of the opening period.

Sean Josling tied the game on the power play 44 seconds into the second period then Jacob Perreault scored to give Sarnia a short-lived 2-1 lead less than a minute later.

The Attack's Kevin Hancock tied the game before Sarnia captain Ryan McGregor scored to tie the game again but Hancock's second goal of the game and a goal by Brady Lyle sent Owen Sound into the second intermission with a 4-3 lead.

It was all Attack in the third with goals from Aidan Dudas and Suzuki's second into an empty net.

Sting associate coach Brad Staubitz said " I think we played our best hockey early in the second then got into some penalty trouble and that's where I think it started to turn a bit for us."

Staubitz added "Not getting pucks in deep is a huge issue for us right now. We're getting out of our zone coming through the neutral zone but we're getting bogged down at the offensive blueline."

Ethan Langevin stopped 25 shots for Sarnia while Mack Guzda faced 28 shots.

The Sting fall to 4-5-1 on the season and host the London Knights Sunday at 2:05 p.m. The pregame show starts at at 1:40 p.m. on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.
