Mother Nature takes attendance toll at Brigden Fair

Mother Nature knocked the stuffing out of the Brigden Fall Fair.

Heavy rain Saturday and Sunday night forced organizers to shut down parking at the fairgrounds. The ground was simply too soggy according to spokesman Dennis Robinson.

"To end up with 34,000 people, we are so blessed and so pleased that many people will come," said Robinson. "We put down a lot of gravel, a lot of wood chips and straw bales but in the end, we just decided to not park on our grounds. We appreciated that the village of Brigden allowed them to park on the streets, anywhere that they could."

Usually, about 50,000 people attend the annual fall extravaganza.
