Sting sign 2018 pick Nolan Burke

The Sarnia Sting have signed forward Nolan Burke to an Ontario Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.

Burke, a 6.01 185 pound native of Peterborough, played last season for his hometown Jr. Petes AAA Minor Midget team. He led the Petes in scoring with 22 goals and 25 assists in 35 games. Burke has a late birthdate, and does not turn 16-years-old until December 9.

He was a fourth-round pick (79th overall) in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.

“Nolan is a big, skilled forward with an above average hockey IQ whom we were thrilled was still available when we were making the selection on draft day,” said Sting General Manager Nick Sinclair. “We are excited Nolan and his family have committed to the Sarnia Sting and the Ontario Hockey League to further his development both on and off the ice. The future is definitely bright for Nolan and we look forward to further track his progression.”

Burke is currently playing with the Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).
