Sting announce leadership group for 25th season

The Sarnia Sting have announced their leadership group as they enter their 25th season as an OHL franchise.

Ryan McGregor who is into his fourth season with the team has been named the club’s captain.

He was originally a second round (24th overall) pick by the Sting in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.

In 50 games last season, he registered 13 goals, 19 assists and 32 points before continuing his production into the playoffs when he put up 10 points (3-7–10) in 12 postseason contests.

The 6 foot 1 inch, 177 pound 19-year-old was a sixth-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2017 NHL Draft and recently attended training camp in Toronto.

Fellow veterans Anthony Salinitri, and Mitch Eliot will serve as permanent assistants. Franco Sproviero, Adam Ruzicka, and Theo Calvas will alternate as the third assistant captain.
