Dream Home Lottery to raise money for mammography

The Bluewater Health Foundation's Dream Home this year is the largest in size in the lottery's 24-year history.

The two-storey home located on Lucas St. is 2,300 square feet.

Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander to date, the fundraiser has brought in $6.8-million for the hospital. She said they hope to raise another $300,000 this year to buy two new mammography machines.

"Mammograms really are the first line of detection when it comes to breast cancer, and we know that we have the technology available now to do those mammograms, but we'll have enhanced technology in 2019 to keep doing it," she said.
