Improved Bus Service Gets Rolling Sunday

Sarnia transit changes take effect this Sunday.

Superintendent Andrew Savor says users across the city will notice a decrease in wait times and a simplified schedule.

He says there are improvements for Lambton College students.

"Some routes are currently on 60-minute headways, the technical term for the distance between two busses and their arrival time," says Savor. "We've shortened those to 30 minutes headways. So in many cases, passengers will notice a bus arrive every 30 minutes where in the past it was only every 60 minutes."

As well, three new routes have been created that will benefit residents in the Rosedale, Mitton and Sherwood Village areas.

Savor says since the beginning of the year, about 90,000 riders a month have been taking city buses.

More information is available on the city's website.
