Sarnia's Refined Fool Brewing Co. has launched a "Buck-A-Button" campaign, after creating a buzz on social media this week with its mock participation in Premier Doug Ford's buck-a-beer challenge.
Director Nathan Colquhoun says they tried to take part in the initiative, by offering a deer one of their draft beers.
They also enjoyed some cold ones watching the movie "Uncle Buck" with John Candy.
Colquhoun says it was hard to take the premier's initiative seriously.
"Offering buck-a-beer wasn't very realistic for us, we would lose money, and we thought that whatever we can use in terms of our marketing connections with the community would be better used in mental health services," says Colquhoun.
Buttons will be sold at the Davis St. and London Rd. breweries for $1 each, with 100% of sales supporting mental health initiatives at Bluewater Health.
Colquhoun says Refined Fool will match donations up to $1,000.
