TSL Welcomes New President

A new president will be calling the shots at Tourism Sarnia-Lambton. Mary Jean O'Donnell was named the new head of the TSL on July 5. Karen Richards recently resigned from the position. O'Donnell, who was previously the board treasurer, says she hopes to capitalize on the natural beauty of Sarnia-Lambton. She says most people are blown away by the St. Clair river and surrounding waterfront. "You know we think we promote it, but honestly there aren't really any boat rentals in Sarnia, bicycle rentals [could be improved]," says O'Donnell. "There are all kinds of different ways of really encouraging folks to be more active and promoting more active tourism."

O'Donnell notes Beach Bumz is actively renting kayaks, paddle boards and beach chairs at Canatara and Kenwick beaches. The new president says she hopes bring big events to Sarnia, and possibly revive Bayfest. O'Donnell is also the president of MJ Waste Solutions.
