Alleged Human Trafficker Arrested At Local Hotel

A 31-year-old man has been charged with the human trafficking of underage victims after police moved in on an area hotel at 12:15 Sunday morning.

Lambton OPP say they attended a hotel in Lambton County to investigate a human trafficking complaint.

Following their investigation, the Criminal Investigations Unit arrested a suspect and held him in custody pending a bail hearing.

The man faces nine charges, including sexual exploitation, trafficking a person under 18 years old, advertising sexual services and benefiting from sexual services provided by individuals under age. He is also charged with possession of child pornography for the purpose of publication and possessing unlawful drugs.

The name of the man is being withheld to protect the identity of the victims.

Lambton OPP say three victims have been identified and their investigation is ongoing.
