Woman Robbed At Gunpoint At ATM Sunday Afternoon

Sarnia police are investigating after a 64-year-old woman was held up at gunpoint at an ATM at about 5:15pm Sunday.

Police say after the woman withdrew money at 450 Trudeau Dr. at the plaza at Confederation St. and Trudeau Dr., she was confronted by a man whose face was covered by a black mask with white vertical stripes.

The victim handed over money after the suspect pointed a handgun at her. The robber then fled on foot, northbound on Trudeau Dr.

Police say after a search of the area with the help of the OPP Canine Unit, a 30-year-old man was arrested at about 6:30pm on outstanding warrants not related to the robbery.

The Sarnia Police Criminal Investigations Branch continues to investigate.

The suspect is described as a white male, with a slim build, wearing dirty blue jeans, a black hoodie, and a black ball cap.

Police are also asking that residents in the area of Trudeau Dr., D'Andrea Trail and Confederation St., check their properties for anything out of the ordinary that may be related to the robbery.

If something is found, don't pick it up, call city police immediately.
