Watford Man Faces Multiple Charges In Luring Investigation

A 34-year-old Watford man is facing over a dozen charges in a luring investigation by the Sarnia Police Service Youth Bureau.

Police say a man was in a relationship with a female student from Sarnia. He would allegedly give her marijuana, cash or alcohol in exchange for sexual acts.

The man is accused of sending text messages to the girl, telling her to meet him at different locations.

William David Carter is facing the following charges:

  • 1) Communicating with anyone under 18 years of age for the purpose of obtaining sexual services
  • 2) Disobeying a court order
  • 3) Two counts of breach of probation
  • 4) Indecent Exposure to a person under the age of 16 years
  • 5) Invitation to sexual touching to a person under 16 years of age
  • 6) Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication
  • 7) Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • 8) Procuring under 18 years
  • 9) Sexual assault
  • 10) Sexual interference
  • 11) Possession of child pornography
  • 12) Production of child pornography
Carter is still in police custody as the investigation continues.

Police have released a photo of a grey Dodge minivan they suspect was used in connection with the alleged offences. The licence plate number is AWFJ 558.
