Major Makeover For Sarnia's Eastland Plaza

Sarnia's Eastland Plaza on Indian Rd. S. is getting a major makeover.

Sarnia-based Curran Capital Development Corporation purchased the property from a Toronto developer in December.

Owner and President Taylor Curran says they're tearing down a 10,000 sq ft portion of the plaza on the south side.

"What we're trying to do is 'rightsize' the plaza to give it better visibility for existing tenants, but also a full renovation of the existing plaza," says Curran. "Beyond that, we are going to further redevelop, possibly with an opportunity for a building on the corner of Devine St., as well as on the area that we're taking down which is the former Buck or Two."

Curran says they want to rebrand and reposition the plaza.

"Just to modernize the entire facility and we've also undertaken various renovations," says Curran. "A new roof is going on the remaining building and LED lights in the parking lot and the understructure of the building."

Shoppers Drug Mart, Scotiabank, Greer's Variety, and Mike's Pizza and Subs currently lease space in the plaza.
