Police Investigating Boy's Report Of Suspicious Man

Sarnia police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspicious man after a 12-year-old boy reported being approached on his way to school Friday.

The boy claims a man in a vehicle offered him a ride at around 8:45am at London Rd. and Russell St.

Constable John Sottosanti says the boy declined the invitation, and the car left southbound on Russell St. once the light turned green.

"A 12-year-old boy proceeded to school and from there reported the matter," says Sottosanti. "The vehicle was described as being an older model four-door Toyota, smaller vehicle, possible hatchback, some rust and a possible bike rack or some sort of rack on top. The vehicle plate was not obtained."

The driver is described as being in his mid-20’s, about 5' 11" tall, with a fit build and having a larger orange coloured beard.

There was no one else inside the vehicle.

Sarnia police want to speak with the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sarnia Police Service Youth Branch.
