Sting Take Down Firebirds 6-2

The Sarnia Sting showed why they're one of the league's highest scoring teams last night as they cruised to a 6-2 win over the Flint Firebirds.

Defenseman Marko Jakovljevic scored his first OHL goal, and Sean Josling and Michael Pezzetta each scored their 20th of the season.

Sarnia now has eight 20-goal scorers and they're just four goals behind the Greyhounds for the most in the OHL with 260.

Assistant Coach Jeff Barrett says this years team has offensive talent all across their roster.

"It speaks volume for our depth that you get that many guys who can contribute each and every night, so it's a luxury that we have."

Backup goaltender Aidan Hughes made 26 saves to pickup his ninth win of the season and Jordan Kyrou had four assists. The Sting captain is just five points beind Aaron Luchuk for top spot in the OHL scoring race.

Sarnia returns home Saturday to take on the Erie Otters, then they'll wrap up their weekend when they host the Firebirds on Sunday afternoon.
