Former Sarnia Teacher Looks To Help Those Dealing With Post Concussion Syndrome

Joe Smits has been dealing with PCS for more than two years and he's hoping his knowledge on the subject will help others find an easier path to recovery.

The former elementary teacher is holding a drop in support group at the Main Sarnia Public Library from 10am to 11am every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month to answer any concussion related questions.

"I'm interested in sharing some of the resources and experiences I've had to help others dealing with concussion symptoms," says Smits. "I've been asked where are places to go in Sarnia that might be helpful, is it normal to have memory or balance issues, and where can someone go for help with depression and anxiety."

People who come do not need to share anything and they are welcome to drop in at anytime during the hour.

Smits hopes to one day go into school to raise awareness about concussions.
