Over the last 18 years, the Village of Point Edward has received over $42-million from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

A cheque has been received for the period from October to December 2017.

OLG issued a third quarter payment Friday of $556,420 to the municipality for hosting Gateway Casinos.

In June the new owner-operator announced a $26-million renovation to rebrand the gaming facility as a “Starlight Casino.”

It’s expected work will be completed by late spring and will including a new family-friendly restaurant and enhanced gaming floor.

The waterfront casino opened in April 2000.
