Funding Opportunities For Local Charities

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way is now accepting funding proposals from local registered charities.

It's for a three year period beginning on April 1, 2019 and lasting until March 31, 2022.

Spokesperson Pam Gallant says they're looking for applicants that meet United Way's three funding priorities.

They are healthy safe and independent seniors, empowering and strengthening families, and healthy, resilient and successful kids.

"Our United Way has done a community needs assessment about every three years, and we've found that those priorities are what is needed in our community right now," says Gallant. "We also talk to other funders to see what they're funding as well so that we make sure that our dollars are going to where the real need is in our community."

Applications can be found at www.theunitedway.on.ca under the "Agency Forms" tab.

The first step in the process is the letter of intent, which is due by February 15 at 4pm.

The agency currently funds 25 agencies, providing 36 programs and services to the community.
