Salvation Army Kettle Campaign Surpasses Goal

This year's Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign was a huge success locally.

When it started back in November, the goal was to raise $128,000.

Thanks to the generosity of Sarnia-Lambton residents, the organization has 146,000 reasons to be happy about this years campaign.

Captain Nancy Braye says that's the amount of money raised that will be used to help feed people in need around the community.

"We purchase the vast majority of food that we distribute," says Braye. "This money will help the over 800 people we assist each month."

Corunna residents alone contributed over $20,000, which Braye says is pretty amazing for such a small town.

The Red Kettle Campaign raised $132,000 in 2016.
