Michigan Man Faces Racing Charge

A 19-year-old Michigan man is facing charges after police stopped a car they say was being driven erratically on Hwy. 402.

Lambton OPP stopped the BMW around 9:45pm Saturday in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Oil Heritage Rd.

Police say the car was aggressively weaving in and out of lanes at 140 km/h. It's alleged the driver was also using a radar detector.

An East Lansing native is charged with racing, having a radar detector, and failing to surrender an insurance card.

His licence and vehicle were seized for seven days, and he'll appear in Sarnia Traffic Court February 9.
