Uptown Funk Sarnia Style

Forget about knitting and bingo.

Some residents of Landmark Village retirement community have starred in a remake of Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk music video.

Marketing Director Tanya Bergen says Executive Director Janice Horley came up with the idea to make the video as a gift to one of Steeves & Rozema's executives at the corporate Christmas party, as both are huge Bruno Mars fans.

"We had so much fun," says Bergen. "We had about ten residents volunteer after watching the video and a few staff members joined in as well. We just had a ball. We filmed for three straight days after practising three times a week for four months. We had a private viewing about a week before the big reveal. We had about 150 people there including family members. They were just so surprised about how it all came together."

Terry Currie of BackDraft MultiMedia edited the four and a half minute video that can be seen on YouTube.

Bergen says Executive Director Janice Horley has another project up her sleeve but isn't giving any hints what it might be about.
