Canadian Coast Guard Hiring Blitz In Sarnia

If you're interested in a marine career, the Canadian Coast Guard may have what you're looking for.

The Coast Guard's Marine Communications and Traffic Services department (MCTS) will be conducting aptitude testing on Tuesday and Wednesday evening in Sarnia.

Those who are successful will be interviewed, then next step would be free training in Nova Scotia.

"Radio Officers provide a vital service for boaters," says spokesperson Carol Launderville. "They monitor marine frequencies, respond to distress calls and perform a number of other services that make our waterways safer."

Sarnia has one of Ontario's two MCTS centres -- the other is in Prescott.

You can register by sending an email to: go-mcts-go-sctm@dfo-mpo.gc.ca or, you can call 1-418-648-3725.
