United Way Campaign Hits 68%

In nine weeks, the Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign has raised $1.36-million.

That's 68% of the $2-million target.

Resource Development Manager Rebecca Brander says they continue to trail last year's pace, but remain hopeful they'll reach goal by Christmas.

"We do still have a number of employee campaigns that are underway," says Brander. "They're still raising money and that includes a few in major industries. CF Industries is still underway and Enbridge Gas Storage is having a great event this week as well. So, we're reminding people if you donated in the past, we're asking you to please consider a donation again this year."

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 19 agencies providing 35 programs and services to the community.

The next major fundraiser is the Poor Boy Luncheon on Giving Tuesday, November 28.

Tickets for the event at the Royal Canadian Legion in downtown Sarnia are $7.
