Sting Win 12th Straight

In front of 4,046 enthusiastic fans the Sarnia Sting won their twelfth game in a row with a 6-3 victory over the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Jordan Kyrou scored three goals for the Sting with singles going to Sean Josling, Connor Schlichting and Adam Ruzicka.

Josling's goal came at 31 seconds into the first period. It was 1-1 after one on a goal by Morgan Frost. The Sting scored three in the second and two in the third.

The Greyhounds outshot the Sting 49-31 with Sarnia native Justin Fazio making 46 saves. Following the game Fazio told reporters that he'd rather face 40-plus shots than 20. He likes to keep busy in net.

Head coach Derien Hatcher said there were things in the game he wasn't happy with but " I thought it was fun, exciting game"

The win moves the Sting six points ahead of the second place Hounds in the OHL's West Division.

Sarnia will look to keep the streak alive when they host Flint Sunday at 2;05pm. The pregame show starts at 1;40pm on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.
