Man Wanted On Canada Wide Warrant Arrested In Sarnia

A man wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant has been arrested in Sarnia.

City police were tipped off that Dustin Robinson had been seen in the downtown area just after 2pm Tuesday.

Constable John Sottosanti says the 34-year-old Sarnia native was wanted on an outstanding Canada wide warrant on several charges including three counts of robbery, failing to attend court and failing to comply with conditions.

"Secondary to some further investigating, officers from general patrol along with members of the COPPS Unit were able to locate Robinson at a Sarnia residence and he was taken into custody without incident around 3:30pm," says Sottosanti.

Sottosanti says Robinson was taken to the Petrolia OPP detachment and he remains in OPP custody.

Robinson was wanted in connection to 12 robberies in Southwestern Ontario and four in Alberta between October 2016 and March 2017.

Constable Sottosanti says it's fortunate the situation ended with a peaceful resolution and police thank everyone who assisted in the arrest.
