New Digital 50/50 Draw System At Sting Games

The Sarnia Sting continue to improve the fan experience at Progressive Auto Sales Arena with the implementation of a digital 50/50 draw system.

Sales are now being done through tablet kiosks and mobile handheld devices, allowing for faster sales and longer selling periods.

Spokesman Jake Bourrie says they typically generate anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 from each 50/50 draw.

He expects that number to climb with the new system as it has in Windsor.

"They averaged about $4,000 per game for their 50/50 raffle," says Bourrie. "They tested this new system at the Memorial Cup. In the final game with Windsor in the Memorial Cup, they did a $46,000 jackpot. Now, there are some variables in that obviously, being the Memorial Cup and the host team, but that big of an increase speaks volumes to the new system and what it can do for us as well."

Bourrie says 15 other OHL teams already have the system in place.

Over the past 20 years, the 50/50 draw has raised over $1-million for boys and girls minor hockey in the city.
