United Way Sets 2017 Campaign Goal

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton is hoping to achieve the same goal as last year.

The 2017 campaign target is once again $2-million.

United Way Executive Director Dave Brown says they will need to reach out to all residents and businesses to once again achieve the aggressive target.

"The more people we can get involved helps us not only for this year but go forward as well," says Brown. "We know that the need is continuing as more and more money is going into seniors programs designed to keep seniors in their own home, safe and healthy and as independent as possible. With an aging population, clearly we know we are going to have to put more money into that type of service as well."

The 61st annual campaign officially kicks off on Tuesday, September 12 with the Day of Caring.

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 19 agencies providing 35 programs and services to the community.
