Lambton Shores Wins Communities In Bloom Awards

The municipality of Lambton Shores is the winner of the International Challenge (Large) at the Communities In Bloom National and International Symposium and Awards Ceremony held in Regina, Saskatchewan this weekend. The community received a 5 Blooms Silver rating, a special mention for CiB Mystery Tour, and an Outstanding Achievement Award for Natural Tidiness. Lambton Shores competed against Fairhope, Alabama, Morro Bay, California, Omagh Town, Northern Ireland, Letterkenny, Ireland and Rosemere, Quebec.

Over the summer, trained volunteer judges travelled to participating communities to evaluate the overall contributions of municipal council and departments; industry; businesses and the private sector, based on several criteria.

Following the evaluation in Lambton Shores, the CiB Committee decided to implement a new project called: Communities in Bloom Mystery Tour. A one day self-guided tour showcases 56 locations on a map covering north, central and south parts of the five communities that comprise Lambton Shores.
